About Us

Cranston League for Cranston’s Future (C.L.C.F.) was founded in 1953 as a Non Profit, Multi Sport Youth Organization. Baseball, Boxing and Football were the first sports offered by C.L.C.F.

Today there are numerous sports programs under the C.L.C.F. Parent Program to include Hockey, Soccer, Wrestling, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Gals Softball, Bowling, Track, Judo……

CLCF Baseball was formed as an Independent Youth Baseball Program for boys and girls ages 5 years to 12 years of age, and remained Independent until the end of the 1996 Baseball Season. Beginning with the 1997 Baseball Season CLCF Baseball became Chartered with the Bambino Division of the Babe Ruth League.

Since being chartered CLCF has been successful in the post season RI State Tournaments from the very first year of involvement with the 10 year olds team winning the State Championship and advancing to the New England Regional Competition. The team repeated as State Champions as 11 year olds in 1998.

Beginning with the 2000 Baseball Season the name “BAMBINO” was dropped and the Division was renamed as the Cal Ripken Division of the Babe Ruth League.
