RI Cal Ripken Night at McCoy Stadium

The annual RI Cal Ripken Night at McCoy Stadium will occur on Saturday, May 12, 2012 when the Pawsox play the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland Indians). Tickets are $7 apiece. Each person attending (including coaches and players) must purchase a ticket.
Please arrive at Gate 5A in uniform by 5 pm. No cleats please. Game starts at 6:05 pm

CLCF BASEBALL SWEEPS ALL 4 RI CAL RIPKEN STATE TITLES!

In a historic first for CLCF/Cranston Cal Ripken, our teams swept all 4 of the RI Cal RIpken State Championships in the tournaments for ages 9-12. All four of our State Champions earned the right to be the RI representative in New England Cal Ripken Tournaments. Our 12 year old State Champions finished 3rd in the 9-team Regional, and our 10 year old State Champions finished 4th in the 8-team Regional. Both teams won multiple games over other State Champions from throughout New England and lost close games to the eventual New England Champions. Our 9 and 11 year old State Champions will represent RI in Regional tournaments starting on August 6. The 9s will play in Bethel, CT, and the 11s will play in Marlboro, MA. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL 4 OF OUR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM. THIS IS A PROUD TIME IN CLCF BASEBALL. ALL OF OUR STATE CHAMPIONS HAVE MADE THE LEAGUE, CITY AND STATE EXTREMELY PROUD OF THEIR GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS!

10 YEAR OLD TEAM CAPTURES 2011 RI CAL RIPKEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to CLCF Baseball's 10 year old team on capturing the RI Cal Ripken Championship with an impressive 7-2 victory over an excellent West Warwick team. CLCF's 10s outscored their opponents by combined scores of 37-7 over the tournament held at Ricci Field. Manager Andy Spirito and Assistant Coaches Tom Barbieri and Jeff Smith did a great job getting the team ready. Each of the following 12 players made significant contributions to the championship run: Thomas Barbieri, Nelvin Blanco, Zac Cole, David Egan, Louis Felicio, Nathan Kheng, Jordan Marot, Jamie Pacheco, Robert Persico, Evan Smith, Andre Solis, and Drew Spirito. The team will represent Rhode Island in the NE Cal Ripken Tournament starting on July 23 in Winchester, Massachusetts.

2011 AAA Jr. 8U Tournament Team- A Message from Craig Barbarino, Manager

Thank you to all the players and parents for attending the 2011 AAA Jr. 8U Tournament Team tryout this past Sunday. All the players did a terrific job and we are proud to have them as members of CLCF Baseball. 2011 8U Tournament Team- A message from Dave Bussius, Manager

Thank you to all of the players and parents who attended the 2011 8U Tournament Team Tryout on Saturday. All of the players performed very well, and we are proud of their efforts. The members of the 2011 AAA 8U Tournament Team are Michael Bogosian, David Bussius, Chris Carbone, Matthew Davilla, Kristofer DeGaitas, Dante DeRousi, Alex Marot, Shaun McCaghren, Joseph Murphy, Jason Patalano, Jake San Antonio, Andrew Tiaveso, and Dion Wilson. We encourage all of the players who are not on this roster to participate in the upcoming tryout for the 2011 8U AAA Jr Team to be managed by Craig Barbarino, which will also be participating in summer baseball tournaments. 2011 9 Year Old Tournament Team

On behalf of CLCF Cranston Cal Ripken Baseball, I would like to congratulate the following 12 players who have been selected for the 2011 Nine Year Old Tournament Team: Cameron Alves, Nicholas Barbarino, Matt Carvalho, Jacob Conrad, Massimo Feroce, Julia Hazian, Jeffrey Huyler, Garrett Jackman, Kyle McCaghren, Gianfranco Messina, Joshua Shaughnessy, Quincy Walmsley. I would especially like to thank all 17 of the players who participated in the two day, four hour tryout. The League, your coaches, and parents are tremendously proud of your efforts. All of you should be proud of yourselves for your great work in CLCF Baseball during the season and this tryout. CLCF-CRANSTON CAL RIPKEN TEAMS WIN 9 AND 11 YEAR OLD CAL RIPKEN STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 27, 2010 was a great night for CLCF-Cranston Cal Ripken Baseball!

At Bain (Ricci) Field, our 9 year old team captured the Rhode Island Cal Ripken State Championship with a win over Darlington. The team won all three of its games in the State Tournament with strong hitting and timely pitching. The team managed by Andy Spirito and coached by Tom Barbieri and Steve Alves will represent Rhode Island in the New England Cal Ripken Tournament starting on August 6 in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. Our players have enjoyed great success this summer with championships in both the Rehoboth Summer Slam and in the State Cal Ripken Tournament.

At West Warwick, our 11 year old team captured the Rhode Island Cal Ripken State Championship with a win over Darlington. The team, under the leadership of manager Steve Manfredo and coaches Bill Boland and Brian Coutu, captured its 3rd consecutive Rhode Island title to go with its two prior championships in the 9 and 10 year old year old tournaments. In winning their latest championship, the team once again had solid hitting and pitching across the board during its undefeated run. The team will represent Rhode Island in the New England Cal Ripken Tournament starting on August 6 in Winchester, Massachusetts.

Congratulations to our State Champions! The City, our League and our fans are very proud of your great accomplishments.

CLCF-Cranston Cal Ripken 9 and 11 year old teams shine in 2010 Rehoboth Summer Slam Tournaments

CLCF-Cranston Cal Ripken's 9 and 11 year old teams excelled in the 2010 Rehoboth Summer Slam Tournaments, which included teams from throughout the east coast. The 9 year old team won the championship achieving six victories without a loss - including an impressive four wins on the final day of their tournament. The 11 year old team won 4 games to finish as the runners-up in their tournament. Congratulations to both teams! CLCF-Cranston Cal Ripken will also have two 8 year old and under teams participating in the Rehoboth Summer Slam tournaments in early August.

CONGRATULATIONS TO 9-YEAR OLD TOURNAMENT TEAM - RI STATE CAL RIPKEN CHAMPIONS

Our 9-year old tournament team captured the Rhode Island Cal Ripken State Championship on July 29 with two victories over Darlington in the final round. During the State tournament, the 9 year old team fought back after an opening game loss and won 4 straight games to capture the championship. The team consistently scored more than 10 runs in its games and had strong pitching and defense.

The State Champions will represent Rhode Island in the Cal Ripken New England Regional Tournament starting on August 7 in Dover, New Hampshire.

Congratulations to Manager Frank DiLanna, Coaches Andrew Spirito and Keith Iassogna, and the 12 players on a job well done!

RI Patriots Win Sportsmanship Award in ESPN RISE Games

Congratulations to the RI Patriots Team, which recently completed competition in the ESPN RISE Games held at Walt Disney World.

The Patriots won the Sportsmanship Award for the Games. This award covered all of the sports played in the competition, including baseball, field hockey, basketball, and track and field. The Patriots were singled out as the team that displayed the highest level of teamwork and sportsmanship. This award is a tremendous accomplishment for the team and our League.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 10-YEAR OLD TOURNAMENT TEAM ON A GREAT RUN!

After capturing the Rhode Island Cal Ripken State Championship, our 10-year old tournament team did a great job in representing our League in the New England Regional Tournament held in Southbury, Connectictut.

The team scored an impressive win over the Vermont State Champion and played very well in two tight games with the Connecticut and Eastern Massachusetts Champions. All 12 players made significant contributions to the team's play in the Regional tournament.

Manager Stephen Manfredo, Coaches Bill Boland and Brian Coutu, and the players' families made considerable time commitments and showed tremendous dedication to the team.

RI Patriots Team To Play in ESPN RISE Games at Walt Disney World

During the week of July 19, a team of CLCF/Cranston Cal Ripken Players ages 10 and under will participate in the ESPN RISE Games at Walt Disney World. The team playing under the name "The Rhode Island Patriots" will be the first Rhode Island representative in the RISE Games and will compete against teams from Florida.

Kevin McGee manages the Patriots and has received considerable support from league veterans including Tom Barbieri, Joe Casalino, Brieanne Trahan, Pete Kelleher and many others. The League wishes the Patriots the best of success as they play in this high profile tournament, as well as much fun at Walt Disney World. A special thanks goes to all of the sponsors who assisted the Patriots in their trip to Florida.

2009 Fall Ball Season

The CLCF/Cranston Cal Ripken Baseball League will hold its annual Fall Ball season, which will run from late August through mid-October.

The registration fee is $50 for one child or $75 for two or more siblings. We'll be holding in-person registration sessions on Friday, July 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday July 25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to collect the registration forms and fees. Both registration sessions will be at Garden City Field. Please note on the form the playing level at which each child wishes to participate (e.g., Majors, AAA, AA, Instructional).

Congratulations to the 10 Year Old Tournament Team - RI State Champions!

Congratulations to the CLCF/Cranston Cal Ripken 10 Year Old Tournament Team on capturing the Rhode Island Championship in the State Cal Ripken Tournament held in West Warwick between July 6, 2009 and July 11, 2009. Our team won all four of its games, and each player made key contributions during the team's run to the championship.

Our 10 Year Old Team will represent the State of Rhode Island in the New England Regional Cal Ripken Tournament to be held in Southbury, Connecticut starting on Friday, July 24, 2009. The League is very proud of all 12 players who excelled under the coaching of Steve Manfredo, Bill Boland, and Brian Coutu.

End of Spring 2009 Season

From Steven Richards:

At the Majors and AAA levels, we had exciting games throughout the season. The playoffs were competitive and had two great finals. Congratulations to TPG Companies and Lovett Scheffrin Harnett on their playoff championships and to Resnick Law and University Orthodontics for their excellent play in the finals. We'll touch base soon regarding the planning of the Majors and AAA Field Day to be held in late August, where all players will receive their trophies.

Our AA/Instructional Field Day was a resounding success with a well-played AA All Star Game followed by an afternoon of fun activities for the players. A special thanks goes to the volunteers who helped with the set-up starting in the early morning. As you saw throughout the AA and Instructional games, our League has a very deep pool of talented young players with bright playing futures ahead of them.

This past season, we saw many improvements in our League, such as the highly successful concession stand at Bain, our new website, and our fundraiser dinners. Thanks to all of the volunteers who participated.

We'll have a coaches meeting in July to talk about the past Spring Season and our agenda going forward. You should attend this important meeting. Also, we'll need volunteers for Fall Ball, so let us know if you're interested in managing or coaching. In September, we'll have our elections for Executive Board positions.

Thanks to all for your role in the League's success, and please continue to assist as we improve the League going forward.

Faye Field use

THIS IS AN OFFICIAL NOTICE REGARDING FAYE FIELD:

Edgewood South Elmwood Little League has EXCLUSIVE USE of Faye Field
on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for the entire season.

This allows CLCF to use the field from Friday to Monday for the Season.

I, Majors team # 3 Pat Keough will be using Faye Field this coming MONDAY evening April 13th for practice.

With the exception of the times that have been designated for AAA Practices
for teams AAA 5 and AAA 6, practice will be on a first come first serve basis,
PROVIDING that the team that will be using it notifies all other teams of their intent before hand.

This will be the 2nd Annual R.I. - E.Mass. Babe Ruth Cal Ripken Night @ McCoy Stadium.

The Pawtucket Red Sox vs Buffalo Bison's
Game time 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are $6.00 for a paid admission, with $2.00 on each ticket returned to the local league!

Last year we had over 1300 people attend the event. This year, we can possibly double that number.

All league players will be included in the pre game ceremonies and appear on the field in their uniforms.

Start making your leagues plans to make this event a huge success.
